The busy mundane doesn’t let people even think about their surroundings. The usual psychology of every person, i.e., ‘Rules are for others’ doesn’t let them do something for the environment. Thousands of excuses abstain them from doing so and push them to become too lazy to even improve their lifestyle. Baba Ram Rahim has transpired as an example for others by literally indulging in all environmental protection activities and that’s really needed to underscore.

The environment is at the edge of extinction and there’s no doubt in this statement. The misconception that prevails among the public is that the measures or steps for its protection are only the government’s responsibility. They always find it easier said than done to follow the rules and their contribution to these measures. Baba Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh has initiated a plethora of initiatives that certainly helps protection of environment if taken seriously by all. Tree Plantation at Massive Level!

Instrumental in all major activities of environment protection, Dera Sacha Sauda has emerged as an unparalleled religious institute that has broken all records in tree plantation. Dera disciples or better say Gurmeet Ram Rahim’s disciples' plants trees every year on his birthday. Ram Rahim Baba exhorts his followers to plant a tree and this would be accepted as a gift of his birthday on August 15 every year.  

As per 2009 data, plants exceeding 3 crores in the count have been planted in the whole universe and more than 75% are still alive out of them. Whoa!

Despite it, Saint Guru Ram Rahim inspires them to plant a tree on every occasion of their like, viz. anniversary, birthday, or all other happy occasions. This is indeed a good idea. Plating tree on a birthday is such a message for youngsters besides giving them an inspiring & an engaging activity on their special day. We should go by it, don’t you think? 

Halt on Stubble Burning

The wheat and paddy residues are usually burnt by the farmers and this causes tremendous air pollution which is horrendous to the extent that breathing becomes so difficult in nearby areas. Besides polluting environment, the ignorant farmers are not known with the fact that this fire will burn the fertility of the soil as well. 

To stop this, Baba Ram Rahim has diverted them to use this stubble as fodder to feed the animals. This would serve three purposes,

 One- No fire, no burning so no air pollution

 Second- The fertility of the soil will remain intact

 Third- Feeding the hungry animals is none less than a good deed

And, this step if followed & implemented by all farmers, can do a miracle. Thumbs Up to this step of Ram Rahim!

Toilet Construction

Toilets are quite necessary everywhere either its a rural region or an urban one. To make this happen and to build toilets everywhere, Sant Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh followers are constructed toilets for economically weaker people. This reduces open defecation, halt on pollution and hence protect the environment. 

Cleanliness Campaigns

When it comes to environmental destruction, pollution inevitably tops the list. I don’t need to tell here, what’s our earth’s position in current times. Around 7 million people die every year across the world due to pollution. 

The horrifying fact is, India has been listed as one of the top air polluted countries of the world. India’s eleven cities has got itself listed among top twelve most polluted cities as per 2018 WHO listing of polluted cities.

To remove this deadly pollution, another initiative taken by Dera Baba is cleanliness campaigns that he has initiated on the world level. Around 50 campaigns have already been carried on in several cities of India including, Delhi (2 times), Jaipur, Karnal, Panipat, Tonk, Mumbai, and many other cities. Besides, in foreign countries, his followers are continually carrying on this initiative. 

What do they do? At the very first, permission from authorities is taken for the cleanliness of a particular city and then on the decided day, the campaign is carried on. Lakhs of Saint Guru Ram Rahim volunteers reach the place and whatever, I repeat, whatever comes in their front, they make it clear, no matter, it’s a public toilet or blocked sewerage or whatever. They just clean it with all their might to remove the filth and diseases from that area. 

It demands lots of guts, isn’t it?

Bone Ashes Plantation

This one would seem unique to you for sure as I was surprised after hearing about this one step of Baba Ram Rahim Ji. After death, the ritual of throwing ashes in rivers or freshwater bodies is appalling for the environment.

To halt it and give an amazing gift to the environment, under the guidance of Sant Gurmeet Ram Rahim, these bone ashes are used to plant a tree. This grows faster than a normal tree alongside it bestows with pollution-free life to every human being. 

Energy Conservation

Saving electricity is need of the hour. By keeping this motive in focus, solar energy is used for electricity in Dera Sacha Sauda, Sirsa. This is a great way to save energy. 

Besides, Bio Gas Plant has also been settled here in the Ashram premises. Biogas is produced by using human and animal waste and even this is supplied to nearby cities as well. 

Cloth Bags

To reduce the usage of plastic, Baba Ram Rahim Singh exhorted people to use cloth bags instead and bid goodbye to ethane which is quite harmful to the environment at large.

Environment Protection is everyone’s equal responsibility and it can’t be denied that Ram Rahim’s contribution to it is well appreciable. His noticeable efforts have given a lesson to the whole society that mere words can’t ever serve the purpose, we collectively have to come forward in saving our environment from depletion. His endeavors are worth everyone’s appreciation and shouldn’t be ever underestimated in any term.
